Ashley M. Stevanovich

Each of the 50 United States of America have an official flower. This flower serves as a symbol and representation of the state and it's citizens. Ashley Stevanovich has a great interest in state flowers. Alaska's forget-me-not is a favorite flower. This perennial blooms purple and turns a beautiful shade of blue as it ages.

Ashley Stevanovich would be interested in the fact that there was a heated battle when it came to selecting the state flower for Texas. It came down to the cotton boll, cactus and the bluebonnet. The Lupinus subcarnosus, commonly known as bluebonnet, was the winner.

In 1957 the Indiana General Assembly officially adopted the peony as the state flower, replacing the zinnia, which held the honor for almost twenty years. Ashley Stevanovich knows that state flowers have an incredibly rich and interesting history.

Eyeglasses

It's the middle of winter in many parts of the world, but just because it's below zero doesn't mean that you don't need a pair of sunglasses for bright sunny winter days and the glare from snow and ice. If you're active outdoors you might consider a pair of polarized sunglasses, which reduce glare, making them a popular choice for skiers, joggers and drivers. Polarized lenses have a special filter that blocks this type of intense reflected light, reducing glare.
